Itโ€™s Wednesday again, and itโ€™s time for the next use case marathon post!

This week, weโ€™re discussing how best to manage employee training programs in Wrike.ย 

Real-life example:

You work in the HR department or manage a team and you need to create a template to manage onboarding for new employees. This can be done by templatizing the process in Wrike and adding all the necessary steps, instructions, and resources needed for the new hire. It also helps new starters to get used to using Wrike from day one and ensures that everything work-related is on the platform. Remember, if itโ€™s not in Wrike, it doesnโ€™t exist ๐Ÿ˜Š

Employee Training Program & Onboarding Setup

You can start by creating a training checklist template to onboard new team members more efficiently. Make sure you store all information including forms, information about benefits, training material, etc. in one place and set clear expectations about when to get things done by using assignments and due dates. Use Wrike to check in on their progress with dashboards and reporting and maintain communication/coordination as part of their onboarding and training. Use the template and project framework for every new hire so you donโ€™t have to reinvent the wheel each time.

We use a request from when a new member joins our team. The request from adds this member to our team list and the requestor suggests what training this new member will need. Based on the training request the task created is assigned to people responsible to delivering training. The responsible people then check off in the description of the task when they have completed their training task. I am sure we could automate what should be assigned to new members based on their role but we have not taken it that far yet.

We are not currently using wrike in this way... but I wish we were!

As a new employee I was totally lost inside of Wrike. I found that by using Wrike daily I was able to learn how it works.

While we don't officially onboard all new employees in Wrike we are working on a form and a blueprint for new associates that will be using Wrike to learn about Wrike.ย

For Wrike training specifically, I wish there was a form of interactive training specific to collaborator licenses. Basic training of how to understand Wrike and look at an inbox, what they can and canโ€™t do in Wrike.

I actually started trying to come up with a training program for Wrike - in Wrike last week.ย 

Problems I encountered -ย 

- Wrike training uses the old version in the course I looked at - so was not helpful as we wanted to on-board using the new experience

- for some reason my "Wrike Assist" looked different to the new person - so some of the Wrike Fundamentals I suggested they view were not found....ย 

I must admit I looked for the On-boarding template I'd seen mentioned previously - and didn't find one (I now know it's called Knowledge Base - but that didn't help me last week)

Request Form that automates a task for user setup, including reminders to add the new hire to the team's dashboards, custom fields, request forms and blueprint assignments.ย  It also automates a task I assign to them with recommended training courses on the discover.wrike.com portal.ย  We're working to build it out with a blueprint of each team's onboarding training that we can also assign the new hire.

Hello Meredith Selden, we have a similar process for our team onboardings as well for our team here! Blueprints are definitely a great function to utilize especially if you have regular hires. Thanks for sharing your practice ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hi Debbie Brownlie, all Wrike Discover courses have the option to select New Wrike Experience at the beginning of the course. It should look like this:

If they select the "Yes, my Wrike workspace resembles the screenshot above!" their courses will be in the New Wrike Experience mode.

Alternatively, we have regular webinars for Wrike Basics for New Users, with recordings available to watch anytime.ย

We are not currently using Wrike for onboarding but have started to develop a training process for new hires in our media team within Wrike. I would also LOVE to set up a Space for HR use!ย
