[Status: Backburner⏳ ] Custom Field in Timelog Report

I'm loving the timelog reporting feature. It solves so many problems for me! One small suggestion I have is to allow adding the custom fields into the report, like your other reports (using the sprocket/settings icon). For example, we have a custom field for allocated hours. I would like to see how the time spent compares to the hours that were allocated.

Do we have an update on being able to add custom fields to timelog reports? This would save a lot of time for our company.

We need this feature as well.  We track time by cost center, a custom field.

Just adding my need for custom fields on the time log entries, I have custom fields on the task but may work on the task over a longer period yet want to invoice in part. Custom fields on the time log entry would allow me to do this. Also the option to add these fields in the reports/views.

Please let us know how far away this function is.

Thank you

Yes, I agree with others... it would be very helpful to add custom fields to the Timelog Reports.

@all, just to keep you in the loop on this. The team understands the need for this suggestion. They continue to investigate, not only the direct request here, but other ways to achieve this in line with other enhancements planned in this area.

I'll keep you updated here, please keep voting and please, please provide use-cases 🙏 (i.e. a general scenario where this helps you or your team). These stories across the Product Feedback forum really help shape the developer's approach.

Thank you!

Disappointed this has been requested consistently over the years but not yet available.

+1 on needing this functionality for Wrike to continue to be useful to our organization.

Hi,

It would be really good if we could add completed tasks to the timelog. That way we could go into a project and see time spent by user on the project so far.

I would need project level custom metadata to be inherited to task level, then be able to include custom metadata in Timelog reports.

Being able to create a time log report with filters to include custom fields would be a huge help.  Please have it function like the project and task reporting.

Our need is to track time by material, which material is a custom field.  The only way we can do that now is create a project report and filter to material.  Create a time log report and export all tasks.  From there, we have to back into it by noting which tasks belong to which project/material.  This is done by seeing all the task ids that report to 1 project id.  Once that is set, we have to use excel formulas to calculate time logged by project id.

Having access to custom fields in the time log reporting would save us a lot of time from having to build out our report request.  We could just filter to the tasks that belong to a certain material or other specific data points that are in our custom fields.

Thanks

Todd

Totally agree with Todd's use case.  We are in the same spot with time reporting so this feature would be extremely helpful.

Hi Lisa, I'm joining the now 2 years old and steadily growing fanclub of having the option to filter by custom field on time log reports. It's a bit hard to understand where the complexity lies as a) this feature is already implemented on project and task reports and b) it seems like the only thing that's needed (for the start and probably sufficient for most described use cases) is adding those custom fields to the time report table and make them available on the frontend.

Any chance to get a more definite feedback than 'we're researching this' for 2 years? (And I know you must have a huge backlog with 100 other top prios, just like most of us ...) Thanx much!

I am truly surprised that this has been opened as long as it has.  I just started using the time tracking with the assumption that I would have the same capabilities as in other reporting areas.  I am very disappointed that I cannot report in the ways I need to.  I am working with our new account manager but I would hope this is fixed soon or it will thwart our ability to effectively leverage this feature for planning and time management.

I echo the surprise and disappointment at how long it's taken to implement this functionality into timelog reports/filtering.

This is a feature I've been requesting through my account team and feedback module for months but had no idea other teams had been requesting the same functionality for more than 2.5 years!

I've tried 3 alternate approaches for getting these reports to function the way I need them to for client reporting, but I've been unsuccessful and it's a bit frustrating to have all the data present in my instance, but no way to meaningfully query it.

Please give this a higher priority in your development roadmap.

with this feature, can we able to pull the task according to the custom field directly :)?

Our organization would greatly benefit from being able to do this. We are starting a new workload management initiative, and the timelog report having custom field options would greatly benefit us. Currently, our projects and the tasks within the project are tagged with multiple custom fields such as the brand, account number, and estimated time. It would be hugely beneficial for us to be able to have a timelog report that would pull in time spent per person per task, as well as to be able to say per custom field. So in our case, we could pull a custom field tag of account number and know how much time was spent on that particular account number during a given period of time. Additionally, to be able to see who all spent time on that account number and how much time each person individually spent would be helpful as well.

Furthermore, we have a custom field on our tasks for expected time that the task is supposed to take. It would be great to be able to pull in expected time and compare it with actual time logged as well. These are just a couple of our use cases, however, we have many different custom fields that we have associated with our tasks and projects. It would be very beneficial for our management team to be able to drill down and report on a variety of our different fields that our projects and tasks are tagged with and to compare them with time logged.

How "soon" is "Coming soon"?

I desperately need this as we classify different tasks as Repairs, Maintenance, Project so our team can sort easily, we also need to be able to bill to these same categories, so we need to see this custom field on the time log.

Would this feature enable me to add the Projected Hours column into the 'Time Spent Last Week' timelog report? I need to find a way to compare the time we forecast for each task with the actual time being logged.

May I know expected release Date of viewing Custom fields in Timelog view and Timelog report. We are desperately  waiting for this feature as it is going to be very useful for our use case.

There are available Custom Fields which are required to be seen along with Time log entries like Project SAP ID , Assignee's Cost Center No. , Project Name etc.. and consolidated monthly timelog report along with above information needs to be submitted to our commercial team for booking Time Cost in Projects.

I'd like to urge the importance of this feature for our workflow as well. We'd like to streamline the invoice process and therefore we desperately need to be able to add hourly rates and other internal classifications. With just the timelogs we're pretty much back to a blank excel file which needs to be filled up with all those additional information which are already in the table view on project level.
