[Status: Coming Soon...๐Ÿ•‘] Duplicate Reports

The ability to duplicate existing reports (ex: quarterly reporting) so that the reported fields remain consistent and all that would need to be changed is the name and time-frame would be great. Alternatively, the ability to create our own report templates could also solve this issue.

Agreed - putting something as trivial as report duplication on back burner which could maybe even by done in one day or week, leaves one wondering where Wrike's priorities and ROI thinking lies!

@all, the team are aware of the popularity of this request and the importance of this for everyone here (it has substantial votes ๐Ÿ™Œ).

Although it's something the team is interested in working on, it's not currently on their short-term roadmap ahead of other current essential Product updates. This is why the status in the title is 'Backburner' for now.

What does this mean? Please keep voting, adding use cases on how this will help you so the team can understand exactly how this should look. Once the discussion on Report enhancements happens among the Product Team this thread will be reviewed for possible road-mapping. After that, I'll pop back here with any updates I have and update the status in the title.

Hi Stephen -- I'm not sure how many more use cases we need to document here or how many more up votes this needs to get to move off the back burner and onto the Short Term roadmap.   To reiterate my use case.... we have 100 people who use Wrike and are not Wrike power users.  We (me) creates reports for these people but sometimes they want to change some of the data that is pulled (for instance... if the report is set up for last year, they may want to run only last quarter; if the report is set up to pull data with a number of people in Client field, the user may want to expand or limit that list; the user may want to filter on only certain entries in custom fields, etc).  Right now, the Client will either have to rebuild the report for themselves so they can edit it,(which is not likely as most users do not build their own reports and also opens the door for errors if they rebuild the report incorrectly),  or they have to request me to make their changes (this is not efficient and also means that my list of reports... which has no foldering capability, becomes a huge long list of redundant reports.)

As everyone has said, this is basic functionality and I'm sure we all thought would be available in Wrike when we subscribed. It's so surprising that the Wrike team does not see the value in this when so many users are asking for it.

Users, please continue to upvote this and add your use cases as Stephen recommends.

"Although it's something the team is interested in working on ..." - maybe that is the problem. At this stage it should be something other than interesting to fix this problem, as it is almost universal table stakes for all products to have a duplicate feature for most items. In fact is is probably not very interesting work at all, but rather easy to achieve, and so may be painful, but it will be brief I would bet. Believe me user pain is so much worse on this simple blocker.

Duplication of reports is a must in my opinion not just "something the team" should be "interested in working on". I think you have more than enough evidence of the need for this. I would go one step further and say that the whole report generator needs a major overhaul. It is lacking in a lot of very basic areas all of which mean serious duplication of effort on the user's behalf and very messy workarounds to achieve the reports that I imagine most businesses need. For example, all the "time" reports lack the basic ability to include additional user defined columns. We use these a lot in particular "Estimated Hrs" and "Variance Hrs" against all tasks. As a consequence we cannot view all the information required in our weekly since we cannot add these columns. In addition, when trying to do a bespoke report to fill this hole the filtering options make it almost impossible to achieve the same thing automatically. That is but one example of another weakness. At the end of the day there is no merit in loading all this data into Wrike if it cannot be interrogated by the end user to the benefit of their company. PLEASE can you address these basics BEFORE adding more bells & whistles!

It's typical that as an administrator I will build the initial report, then hand it off to a manager so they can simply make modifications from it. I've seen it more beneficial to have a manager be able to react to something than a blank slate.  Recently, I created a report for a manager and had to provide him with screenshots of the filtering in order to recreate this himself so he could apply subsequent tweaks without requesting assistance from an administrator. This is not a sustainable process going forward and is most certainly not a best use of the organization's money in terms of resource effort. 

The ability to duplicate the report would have saved significant time and effort.

Adding our voice again that we *really* could use this feature.  This is standard in most software, so we are surprised that 1: this isn't already in place, and 2: why this is on Backburner.  Between not being able to copy reports, not being able to organize reports other than changing the naming conventions, and not being able to share a report's editing abilities, we rate the reporting capabilities of Wrike very poor.  Ironically that is one of the main reasons we invested in Wrike.

Hopefully this can be taken off Backburner status and implemented soon! ๐Ÿ˜„

Hi Deidra -- I totally agree and totally agree with your comments re reporting.  Same for us... we knew that Wrike's reporting capabilities were not as strong as our previous platform, but thought it would be adequate.  It's very disappointing that the simple functionality is lacking.  With over 130 up votes on this, it's hard to believe that it's not on the developer's roadmap.  I understand that Wrike is working on beefing up their reporting capabilities and I wonder if there will be an upcharge for this when it does become available?  In the meantime, we sit on the backburner :(

Agreed! We need to have the capabilities to duplicate a report and see how the report was edited in case a change is needed quickly. It has been difficult with adoption due to reporting and ease of use functionalities.

I fully support the request for the requested features. As in any organization the reports used have the same structure but are filled with different data. E.g. our project managers report to their Team / Department managers, has the same structure but filled with data from each project manager.

Ability to make a copy and create own templates, in my view, should be a standard feature.

Browsing through the thread, it is clear that many are missing these features, and that will be more and more.

Hello -- hoping that the development team can see the benefit in this, take it off the back burner and put it into production. 

So much time is wasted recreating reports that already exist but need minor modifications for different purposes.  We have many custom fields that we bring in and need arranging/rearranging. 

It should be a basic feature of Wrike to be able to duplicate an existing report.... an obvious time-saver and way to avoid mistakes in recreating the wheel, over and over and over.....   Please provide an update on this.  Thanks.

We need versions of reports for each client and time period. It's really time consuming and error-prone to go in and build a new report from scratch. And right alongside the report duplication feature - why can't an admin edit a report created by another user? This seems like an obvious need. Thoughts?

Hello --- can someone provide information as to why Wrike doesn't see the need for this feature, the ability to duplicate reports? And, what will it take to get on the roadmap to be developed? Or, is this a functionality that the Wrike platform simply cannot and never will be able to do?

Multiple use cases are sited in this thread and the theme is the same. It is inconvenient, time-consuming and leaves major room for error when reports have to be recreated from scratch.
