From Wrike: Wrike for Gmail (a Gmail Add-On!)
Wrike for Gmail
We’ve had the Gmail gadget but now that Gmail is launching add-ons, we’re taking advantage and creating our own Wrike for Gmail add-on. The idea is to make it easier for you (and us ;)) to view and engage with Wrike tasks.
Spiffy functionality you’ll find
- View tasks and turn emails into tasks (you can do this with the gadget too).
- Read and add comments.
- Add emails as comments to a task.
- Install the add-on once and it’ll be installed on the web and on Android (if you’re an Android user).
- Install the add-on even if you’re not using the GSuite integration.
The add-on is ready for you to install. Check it out, get working, let us know if you have questions!
Hi Stephanie, this is a great feature and I see a lot of potential in this. I've been testing it for the past couple days and while it's great to close out tasks that the Wrike bot sends my way, I still find I have to click into Wrike to complete the creation process or to send a proper comment.
1. Adding comments directly from my email is awesome, however, I haven't figured out how to @Mention anyone.
2. Having the ability to assign a folder or project to the task created in Gmail would be tremendous and would go along with your objective to simply task creation and not have the user change platforms.
3. Along with assigning folders or projects, the ability to set a workflow would also be beneficial
Hi Richard, welcome to the forums! I completely understand your requests (around @mentioning in particular). The team is planning on enhancing the add-on's functionality and we'll make sure to share this feedback with them so that they know what people are interested in.
The "Install' button is greyed out for me. I want to install this, but cant. Help!
Hi Trevor, unfortunately, that's a bug that Google is experiencing at the moment - admins are not able to install the add-in. We'll make sure to update this thread if/when they release a fix.
Ok... How if i am not an admin i can install it?
Hi Trevor, that's strange, you should be able to install if you're not an admin. I'm creating a Support ticket for you so we can figure out what's going on. You'll be hearing from someone shortly!
Stephanie, I'm having the same issue: the "install" button is grayed out. Any solution or workaround?
Hi Errette!!!!! I was so excited to see you here. Are you an admin? If you are Google has a bug where admins are unable to install, if you're not an admin let me know. You can check out the admin issue is here on Google Support. We're keeping a close eye on it and when this changes we'll update you here.
I'm having the same problem :-(
Could there be a workaround, like making someone else admin of the account, installing the app, and then becoming myself an admin of the account again?
I installed it today. When I go to gsuite, it shows installed but I can't find it anywhere in my gmail. I am the main account holder of our wrike team account. How to find it in gmail. I have tried settings-addons-maanage route.. and launched it but no success. please help.
Hi Navan, once you've installed the add-on, when you click on any email you'll see the Wrike icon on the lefthand side panel. You need to open an email to see the add-on. Let me know if you're still not seeing this and I can help!
Hi
is there any possibility to add a new feature to this add-on? I
W would like to have a possibility to add an e-mail to the existing task. Similar as it is in Office add-on.
Forwarding messages is not so useful as this, IMO.
Hi Wrike
I have a user who is having issues with displaying the Wrike add-on, when she clicks on the Wrike tick it moves the add on pane under her mail.Regards
Jacky
@Emilia, can you expand a little here about adding an email? Do you mean to add the email as an attachment, or add an email address?
@Jacky, I've updated your existing ticket on this issue to the Support Team 👍
@Stephen sure,
I would like to add an e-mail as a comment with all attachments to existing, freely chosen task. Not only create.
E.
Thanks Emilia. I think adding this option to the Gmail Add On is a great idea!
For now, your best option is our Email Integration, by adding comments to tasks. This means you send the email to a specific Wrike address with the correct entries outlined at the above link.
Take a look and let me know what you think 👍
@stephan, thank you,
I know about this. But if you have almost 200 e-mails per day.. it takes a lot of time ;P.
E.
Wow! 200 emails that need to move to Wrike tasks or comments daily😱😱
I'm now wondering how your workflow or process works? Do you think if most, or all of these emails, have to be added to Wrike you could apply some automation or limited client access to Wrike? You could leverage Request forms or even free Collaborator licenses so you can keep everything happening directly in Wrike?
It would be great to get an idea of what these emails are usually about and what you're looking to achieve by having them sent to Wrike tasks. Thank you! 👍
we chose Wrike, hope it ends, soon :)
I'm happy to discuss possible solutions. I'm sure we can cut down the number of emails you're working with at the moment and get a holistic view of incoming items directly in Wrike.
For example, using External Request forms allow any client to raise tasks to you directly from a form that you create.
If you need that client to help with the tasks thereafter you can grant limited access as an External User or Collaborator and they can collaborate on the task directly in Wrike until it's completed.
Let me know and I'll be happy to help with this! 🙂
