๐ŸŽจ Releases - Custom Item Types, Automation Engine Limits, and Fixes (08/01/2022)

Feature Updates

We just completely changed the work management game with Custom Item Types! This feature goes beyond standard tasks and projects so you can create your own work item types tailored to your teamโ€™s specific culture and style. This allows teams to not only work as one but work the way they want, in a single digital space.
ย ย
Custom item types were released for all users on Business and higher plans on July 28th, find out more about them in this Community post.
Previously, any account in any subscription plan could only have 100 automation rules. We decided it was time for that number to go up. The new limits are:

- Business: 2000 rules
- Enterprise Standard: 3000 rules
- Enterprise Pinnacle: 4000 rules

Note that the actions count limit is not affected and remains the same, and go make some automation rules!

Fixes

  • Adding Emoji Reactions To Some Comments Made It Impossible to View Them In Full ๐Ÿคฏ
When users added emojis to comments sent via the Wrike email integration the three-dot button allowing them to see the full comment disappeared! This made it impossible to read the comment. We've fixed this by disabling the option to react with an emoji to such comments.
  • Work Schedules Could Not Be Created or Renamed From the Desktop App
Wrike Desktop App users could not create new or rename existing work schedules. Don't worry, we've fixed it now.

Hi, Cally! Thank you for the updates~

Could you please tell what "the actions count limit is not affected and remains the same" means?

Is there a limit to the number of times an automation rule can be executed?

Thanks for the update.

Now that rules quantity has been incremented, ยฟwould it be possible that somebody works in a re-design of that interface and implement a better way to manage them ? For example, a search box or having the chance to classify them in folders ad subfolders would be a good idea, as you may agree with me that having 50+ is hard to manageย  ( I can't even imagine how it would be having more than 1000+). Same idea applies to Reports inteface (a long plain list).ย

I agree with Ricardo.

Please make a folder structure and seachability for the automation rules. Already with 20-30 rules it is quiet a mess. For a big enterprise with several space admins it is completly useless, as you can not find your automation rule anymore. Why 4000 (or 1000 or even 200) if you can not find them?

Hey folks, thanks for your comments ๐Ÿ™Œ

Rita Thereโ€™s a monthly limit to the number of actions performed via automation in the account. For Business Plus (and legacy Business) accounts, itโ€™s 200 actions per each paid seat monthly. For Enterprise Standard (and legacy Enterprise) accounts, itโ€™s 1,000 actions per paid seat monthly, on Enterprise Pinnacle it's 1500 actions/seat. When the limit is reached, all rules will be disabled automatically, and Wrike will notify all account admins by email. Wrike will also send separate email notifications to all admins when your account has 50% and 10% left of the total monthly action limit. Hope that helps ๐Ÿ™‚

Ricardo Rudolph Sven Passinger Thanks a lot for this suggestion, I'll let the team know ๐Ÿ‘

Hey, I noticed that I now can reach out to non-wirke requesters from the comment section via email. Is there a Wrike guide for that? Lisa

I would love to use this feature but we need the option to have these be billable.ย  Am I missing something??ย

I agree with Ricardo Rudolph and Sven Passinger that a folder structure is absolutely needed. I have raised this same issue a long time ago for reports. These areas where there is a long list of items (automation rules, reports, etc.) is really difficult and clunky to organize. I scroll around all the time trying to find the report I want. Seems pretty straightforward to create a folder structure for organizing items.

Please do something about this.

Thank you.

Krissi Ydo Welcome to the forums! Project-based custom item types can't be set as billable at the moment; the team has plans to address it though ๐Ÿ™‚ We'll keep you posted!

Jason Pontius Thank you for more feedback on this topic, it will be passed to the team shortly and we'll let you know if there are any enhancements planned for organizing reports and automation rules ๐Ÿ‘

Since custom workflows can be assigned to Item types, the ability to assign multiple workflows to a project is a must have, especially if you are using the Board view.ย  What would be even better, is if a project adopted all the different workflows of the custom item types on top of it's own workflow.

echoing issues raised by Sven Passinger & Ricardo Rudolph, given the high limit on # of rules, we need a better way to manage them. ย
The # of automations allowed is too low. ย While we love automations, we are limited constantly by the limit imposed. ย We presently use only 4% of our allowed rules, but hit 100% of automations before the end of the month. ย There is a lot more we would like to automate, but are limited in our usage of Wrike due to the limit on # of automations allowed. ย

Additionally, we are not getting our allocated # of automations of 1000 per seat per month. ย we have 60 paid seats and are being allowed only 11,000 automations per month. [Lisa - please refer to your post of 2 August 2022] . ย SV -

Lisa I agree with MW - that we are not able to take full advantage of automation because of limits on actions.
The existing restriction of 200 actions per paid seat per month [Business Plus account] appears to be limiting our ability to fully leverage the numerous new automations introduced by Wrike. In order to optimize productivity and make the most of these valuable automation features, Wrike should raise the action limits to a more accommodating 1000 actions per seat monthly. Without such an adjustment, the full potential of these automation tools remains unrealized.
