Time tracking correction

Hi,

I have a question about the correction of time tracking. We had the case that a coworker put his time into a wrong task (that could happen if you book your time via timesheet).

The supervisor recognized that but he was not able to correct it. Is there any possibility of the supervisor to correct such mistakes? In this case it was very unlucky, because the coworker was ill and could not correct the mistake himself.

Is there any possibility for the admin to correct such mistakes?

Hi Sven Passinger! Regular users should be able to see and edit their own and others’ timelog entries. If you have Wrike for Professional Services package or Wrike Resource add-on, there's also the lock icon in this column indicates that the entry is locked and can’t be edited, unless the user is enabled to do so by access role. So it might be the case that on your account, some entries are locked, and the supervisor is restricted to edit the entry by their role. Does this help?

Lisa you are right via timelog it is possible. But this will be absolutely boring for a supervisor to go via each project (or lets better say impossible). The supervisors go via timesheet. There I can choose the person and see the timesheet. But I can not change or make entries there for other persons? Is there any way to give some special users permission for this?

Hello Sven Passinger,

Thank you for your question!

I'm afraid that it currently isn't possible to edit another user's time entries from Timesheets, it's only possible to create and edit your own entries on Timesheets (https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014673593-Timesheets#important).

However, you can edit the time entries of other users on the Timelog view (https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/210323505-Timelog-View#manage). As Lisa mentioned, some Timelog entries may be locked and/or your access role in a particular folder/project may not allow for editing. If you believe this could be the case for you, please let us know and we'll reach out to you directly to help find a solution.

It's also worth noting that although you can edit another user's time entries, it's not possible to create a new time entry for another user. So in your case, a user logged time on the wrong task. You can go to that task in Timelog view and edit/delete the incorrect time entry, but you won't be able to create a new time entry for this user on another task.

But if you are interested in having the ability to log time for another user, you can join the discussion and upvote this feature request here: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360000374589-Adding-Time-on-behalf-of-others. Our developers take this feedback into consideration when planning future product updates.

Please let me know if you have further questions and have a great day! 😄
