Hide Tasks within Shared Projects

I'm a creative services manager and I manage design projects. I want internal teams to use our request form, but I don't want them being able to access the tasks. I can't remove them as followers of the project, because then they can't find it if they need to ask me a question.

So if person A submits a request, then it creates a project. I want them shared on the project so I can communicate with them there, but I want to be able to add private tasks to that same project to assign out the work, but I don't want the requester to see "behind the curtain"

The current way almost seems backwards. You should be able to hide tasks and keep projects visible. Not the other way around.

Hi Emily Britt! As your suggestion got 60+ upvotes, I've asked the Product team for an update, and it looks like there's already a solution to what you're trying to achieve. Please check out Selective Sharing functionality - using it, you can create a private folder inside the project that is shared with the requestor and not share this private folder with this person, and then add tasks to that private folder that won't be accessible to the requestor.

Please let me know if you have any questions 🙂

Selective Sharing is available only on Enterprise accounts.

We have established 'templates' for projects and would like to have selective sharing enabled on a set of tasks within that project.  We are bringing our developers into Wrike so we can assign tasks to them, but don't want others to know which developer is working on those tasks to avoid people going around the project managers directly to the dev team and/or bothering our developers all the time.  The option above may work, but that's maybe for one-off tasks... the tasks we want to hide are part of every single template/project.

Hey Ken Hayes, could you please describe what you're trying to achieve in more detail?

In regards with the original request - as this feature is already possible within Wrike as a part of Selective Sharing, I won't be able to give this thread a status. Be sure to continue to comment your use cases and feedback here to help with future internal discussions.

Wrike team,

I am needing something similar to the things noted in this thread that Selective Sharing does not solve. We are wanting to be able to share a Task, and have subtasks in the task that are only viewable to admins or those who are explicitly shared on the subtask. If there was a "Confidential" feature or something that blacked it out except for explicit sharing, that would be most helpful.

Respectfully Yours,

Grant

Hi Grant Peterson, apologies for not getting back to you earlier. The original post above is about hiding tasks in shared projects - for that reason, can I please ask you to create a separate post for your suggestion? Then we'll see how popular it gets among the Community 👍
