Anyone LOVE the Outlook Add-In?

I am a trial user of Wrike to whom seamless, integrated email into tasks and projects is my most important feature needed.  I will not be able to test the Add-In without moving my Office 365 Account for my entire company to an Office 365 Business Account, at a higher cost.

Most of the posts in the community are about Outlook problems.

Does anyone LOVE the Add-In and find it extremely useful in their workflow?

I wish there were more screenshots and video of the Add-In in actual use.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I have found the plugin to be a bit disappointing. Most of our users dont even use it.

Sorry to hear this Ivan! Maybe the below might be of interest to you too!

@Wayne, welcome to Wrike and the Wrike Community!

There's some information about the Outlook add-in over here. Additionally, I asked a Customer Success Manager Craig today to make a quick screencast of how to create and use the basics with the add-in: https://cl.ly/2O2I3p2X1i1r

Happy to discuss here further if you have any questions 👍

A screencast would be very helpful.  As I mentioned, the documentation on this feature is rather sparse.

Stephen, let me clarify my comment I guess to be fair :)  I had the former app and absolutely loved it.  it combined all of the wrike emails I got into usable tasks in my inbox.  but it crashed outlook all the time and it went away :(

the new app does what its advertised to do well.  Turn an email into a task etc.  but, it is a bit sluggish at times and it doesnt cut down and replace all of those Wrike emails we get as notifications.  That is what I really miss and why it is not quite as used as the old one was.

Hi Ivan, really appreciate the feedback and that's fair. It shouldn't be crashing or slowing down Outlook so I'd like to raise a Support Ticket so they can troubleshoot this. I'll wait for you confirm here that you're happy to do this before raising the ticket.

@Wayne - I've added a screencast above. Is there anything, in particular, you'd like us to show and I can get our CSM Craig to create another screencast! 👍

Thanks!

Stephen, it was the old plugin that crashed Outlook.  the new one does not.  However it does have long loading times.  If you watch the screencast even that one had a long loading time so I dont think it is specific to my machine.

Stephen, that link is returning a "Oops! Surprised" message to me in Cloud App.

I got to watch the screen cast, thank you, it was helpful.

So, there is no way to open the original email in Outlook from the Wrike web app or PC program?  The task created from an email just contains a non HTML note of the body of the original email?

@Ivan, there is a little lag for loading within Outlook, but the actual actions in the background are instant. I've passed on your feedback about this and if you'd like a little deeper dive into this with our Support Team I can raise a ticket - just let me know 🙂

@Wayne, I've raised a ticket to our Support Team to take a look at this with you. The behavior doesn't sound right so the team will take you through the process fully. Any follow up questions, drop back to me here 👍

I cannot install the Wrike Outlook add-in until I upgrade my Office 365 Home account to a Business account and have my Exchange Hosting service (Rackspace) move my data to a Microsoft server.  Hopefully, this will happen by Monday.

I was trying to determine how the email to task function works in Wrike, but still do not have a clear picture.  The question I am attempting to answer is – When I create a task from an email in Wrike, is there a link in the task that will open the original email back in Outlook?  It looks as if the task will show me the body of the email, subject, and who sent it only.

Sorry this question is so confusing.

Hi Wayne, when you create a task this is what happens:

What Happens When You Create a Task From Outlook

  • Text from your email is added to the task’s description. If it’s an email chain, only the text from the most recent email is added.
  • Attachments from the email are added to the task.
  • The task is pinned to My Work.

A link back to Outlook is not available.

This recorded Webinar from Agnes, a Wrike Expert, about the Outlook Add-in will be very useful for you to watch. Let me know if you have any questions after watching this 🙌

I absolutely love the add in for Outlook. I open my In-box in the am, convert any email that needs attention to a task, assign it to a folder, set the status, assign to the appropriate person, and give it a date.

I love that when i get any email associated with an email that i created a task from, Wrike offers to let me send the new email as a comment.

I love that i can update the status, etc right from Outlook based on the new email.

I love that i can send an email (via BCC) to a specific folder and have it auto assign user, status and gives it a date.

Specifically, we track and respond to all negative reviews from most major review sites. I have to create a response, send the response with a snip of the review to the store manager for his review and then post or adjust the response if needed. What i was doing, was, after sending the email to the manager, i would go to my Sent folder and turn it into a task, assigning, etc. Now, i send it to a specific folder (i.e. Google, Yelp) in the bcc column as i used the Email address for that folder and turned them into a contact (Google-Wrike, Yelp-Wrike). Those folders are set up with a specific workflow as default that auto assigns new tasks to me and my assistant. Talk about a time saver!!!

I have this function for any IT tickets i create with my IT vendor.

Tip, when you open Outlook in the am, open the Wrike add in and PIN it to the right side. Saves having to open every time.

Cons on the add in?

You can select date, but not duration.

You can't get back to the specific email from Wrike.
