Hi Frank, this is simply due to the differences between what a Project and Folder is usually when building a Folder structure. A Folder's panel doesn't open automatically because Folders are usually used to keep Projects and Tasks within. While a Project is usually a focused on a goal so seeing the information panel for the Project is usually needed.

It's a good insight! It would be great if you could post the idea to our Product Feedback section of the Community so our Product Team have visibility and so other members can vote for the idea 👍

Hi Stephen!  Thanks for the insight.  Our challenge is that we use folders as task templates, so we put information relevant to the template into the folder description.  We're finding that on the projects that have these templates assigned, the individual that the project is assigned to sometimes misses this information because the folder info panel isn't open by default.  A simple option to allow us to change this behavior in our Profile would be extremely helpful.  Thanks!

Will cross-post this to the Product Feedback section as you mentioned.

That makes sense Frank, thanks for getting back.

You're likely aware, and I assume this might not work for you, but perhaps using Project Templates might an option. Either way, it would be great to see this in the feedback section.

This would be very helpful.  We use folders as a place to house tasks and create agenda's for meetings and having this hidden really limits the utilization of any of the notes and reference documents we have to share.

That's a shame, i have recently introduced a folder structure in our workplace for holding account information and it would a great enhancement for us to include on default open view. Just helps with user journey, in terms of less clicks.

We also would love to see this feature. We’re 6-months into deployment with 150 Users, with more coming soon, and this is such a common request from our team. They’re looking for the folder info pane to double-tag the folder to additional locations. Also, in the case of folders containing tasks generated from request forms, we use that area to document which form is generating these requests with links to the internal and external versions of the form. The icon is inconspicuous in the top-right corner so we get this question frequently.

Agree, we would also appreciate having a display option that allowed folders to open to the info panel by default.

I agree this would be most useful for us. We are using wrike for Quality management ISO 9001 so each of the standard sections is a folder with the details within it. We then allocate tasks and tag the respective folder and use form requests that automate allocation accordingly to the folders and team members. Having the info panel show automatically would be very helpful in the folder view, it is a little laborious to have to keep selecting view when switching between folders.
