Auto assign request to person who made the request.

Has anyone found a way to auto assign a request to the person making the request?

The dashboards I have made to track all of the various requests in the company filter by showing only "assigned to current user" status, this has resulted in a large number of people missing their own tasks because they forget to assign the task to themselves after making the initial request.

If it was possible to sort the status as "assigned to current user" or "Author is current is user" rather than an and statement that would also solve my problem.

If there is no worked around for this the only other option I can see is to make two separate dashboards for tracking each request, one for the people submitting the request who would have filter by author and the receivers being filtered by currently assigned. This however would result in me managing over 20 dashboards.

Hi Andrew, twenty Dashboards to monitor this activity is definitely not ideal. Currently, there is no way to currently assign the person who makes the request. It's a great idea and there's no exact feature request like this in our Product Feedback section so I'm going to move this post there so others can discuss and vote on it.

For now I just want to highlight the below processes that may help.

  • If the person is an active user in the account, then they will be brought to the task straight after submitting. This allows them to engage with the task. They can follow, star or assign themselves at this point. You would need to communicate this as a 'best practice' process within your organization.
  • You could add a question to the task that asks who is submitting this form. The conditional assignee you've selected for this form could be given the responsibility of assigning this person once they receive the task.

I understand the above notes are not ideal solutions. Thank you for sharing your feedback here. Any update I'll be sure to come back to you here👍

Looking forward to hearing how other member's ways of working for this.

Just to add some further reading and requests here. There an existing request, New Auto assign requester when making task via request form which may be of interest to anyone reading this.

There's also feedback about to assigning the person as the Project owner - New Project Request form Project Owner autoassignment based on user completing the form

I'm very interested in this request.  I don't seem to have access to your links in the last comment.  Can you give me access so I can read more?

Auto-assign the task to author will be GREAT productivity enhancer. Given Wrike is all about the productivity, this seems no brainer..New to this Wrike community. I see several posts requesting this feature. Has this been added yet???
