What's New in Wrike - August 2024
Our August edition of What's New in Wrike covers updates to Custom Fields in User Profiles, Table View, Timesheet Approvals, Datahub, and more.
Available on Enterprise Pinnacle plans.
Custom fields can now be used to add unique attributes and skills to your team’s user profiles. With these fields, you can track important information and details specific to your team, making it easier to manage resources effectively.
For example, if a task requires someone with specific skills, the system can suggest the best person for the job based on their skills and availability. Plus, you can filter through your team members based on these attributes to see who's available and most qualified to work on certain tasks. This way, you can manage workloads more efficiently and ensure tasks are assigned to the right people.
You can also report on this data in Dashboards in order to identify skill gaps, review team capacity and utilization, control cost center allocation, or overview company structure.
Find the full guide for this feature in the dedicated Help Center section.
Available on Enterprise Pinnacle plans.
You can now group Workload by teams, line managers, skills, or other attributes. The grouping menu on the Workload chart has been extended to include user custom fields. Note that only one level of grouping is supported, so you can select just one user attribute or job role. However, you can still combine it with grouping tasks by projects.
Also, Wrike now considers job roles information along with user custom fields when suggesting the best assignee for a task. In the assignee picker, assigned job roles act as one of the assignee requirements, making it easier to match tasks with the most suitable team members.
Available to be enabled in Wrike Labs for Enterprise Pinnacle plans.
With this new feature you can review, approve, and lock your team’s timesheets, making it easier to prepare for monthly billing or payroll. Approved timesheets will have their time tracking data locked for the specified week for the individual, ensuring no additional time entries can be added.
You can enable Timesheet Approvals in Wrike Labs. Learn more about Timesheet Approvals in this Community post.
Available to be enabled in Wrike Labs for Enterprise Pinnacle plans.
Datahub helps you connect your data stored outside of Wrike with Wrike projects and tasks. You can connect your data sources through API or manually, and what you’ll get is custom fields that are dynamically updated when you make changes in your data stored in Datahub.
You can enable Datahub in Wrike Labs. Read our dedicated Community post to discover more about Datahub.
Available on all Wrike plans.
You can now view longer content in Name and Text Custom Fields in Table view while maintaining compact layouts. It helps you customize your data display, improve readability, and streamline workflows.
You can wrap text using the column menu in Table View. This feature is available for the Name column and any text custom fields.
Available on all Wrike plans.
It’s now possible to select all items in Table view easily. At the column name level, you will find a checkbox that you can tick to select all the items displayed in the view.
Note that only visible items will be selected, which means that subitems in collapsed folders, projects, or tasks won't be.
To select all items, including all subitems, you can first access the Subitems tab and select the Expand all option:
Once all items are displayed, you can select all of them and mass edit them.
New Dashboards are available for all users except collaborators on all paid plans.
Our new interactive parameters make New Dashboards more controllable by the user, reducing the need for copies. For example, with the Project Portfolio dashboard, you can now add a parameter for the Product Type custom field and get a drop-down at the top to filter projects by product type.
By default, all widgets are controlled by dashboard parameters, but you can exclude them through widget settings. This initial release allows parameterization by Assignee and single- and multi-select custom fields, with more options coming soon.
New Dashboards are available for all users except collaborators on all paid plans.
We’ve released several dashboard and widget templates that cover common use cases and patterns for reporting and analytics in New Dashboards. These include Project status, Project portfolio status, Team utilization this month, Team capacity this month, Team time spent, Project planning, and Project profitability.
Please note: not all templates are available in all plans, as some of them rely on capabilities only available in higher plans.
New Dashboards are available for all users except collaborators on all paid plans.
It's now also possible to wrap longer text for the name column and any text custom fields in New Dashboards (similar to the above mentioned wrap text in Table view).
Available on all Wrike plans.
Our Search has been updated so you can now add more columns to the search results and reorder the columns, and the changes will be preserved across search sessions.
You can also customize density and cell borders (same as with Table view).
Available on all Wrike plans.
