What's New in Wrike - February 2024
This February’s edition of What's New in Wrike includes updates on Automation, Custom fields, New Dashboards, and more!
Available on Team and higher plans.
We've introduced three new automation triggers based on approvals: Approval starts, Approver gives a decision, and Approval finishes with a decision. You can access these new options in the triggers section of the rule creator.
When starting a new approval, you can now automatically change the status of tasks and projects to In review or move your items to a folder containing pending approvals.
Similarly, you can automatically set the status of the item to Completed when the approval is completed by combining the Approval finishes with a decision trigger with the action Change item status to. Also, you can define the decision that should trigger this action.
In case the trigger should be actioned only when a specific user gives their decision, you can use the Approver gives a decision option, where you can specify both the decision and user that should perform the action.
These automation triggers aim to streamline processes, reduce workload, and enable teams to make timely decisions. Additionally, in response to our recent automation updates, we've refreshed our Workflow Automation page. The new page includes a demonstration of these features and showcases their practical applications.

We have updated text custom fields with rich text formatting capabilities. Bold, italic, strikethrough text, hyperlinks, and code blocks are now supported in text custom fields.
To use this feature, highlight the text and choose the desired formatting option, or use keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Cmd+B).
The feature is compatible across Table view, Item view, Board view, New Dashboards, Gantt chart view, and Reports.
Available via Wrike Labs for all users except for collaborators from Team Plan and above.
We have integrated pivot tables into New Dashboards as a visualization option. When a metric is selected in the widget editor, a pivot table displays; when none is selected, a list or table of tasks/projects is shown.
This feature is currently in its first release; future improvements will follow.
Also, we have listened to your feedback and added the new Activity Stream widget. It can be configured to display updates - comments, approvals, changes to descriptions and statuses, etc. - specific to a project, folder, or space.
More releases to come regarding New Dashboards.
Available on all plans, the list of available templates may vary according to plan type.
