Agree here. I am also running in to the issue with templates because some users will start a task because it is listed as "overdue" - or they will just be confused and have to check multiple times...
*Also, some times you have to do a refresh/reload of the browser tab containing the timeline view, after you make certain kinds of changes to the tasks, before the timeline will display correctly.
Richard, a common method to deal with this in Wrike right now is to use a numbering scheme prefix for tasks, for instance, something like this: 01 Parent Task 1 01.01 SubTask 1 of Parent Task 1...
