Our team would be happy if there were a robust alpha numeric job ID generator within a custom field because task and project names' character count sometimes have limitations.

I really like this suggestion, and could imagine this could be very helpful for other items as well (ex: request forms, blueprints).
It might be helpful if owner's and admin, including group admins, were able to customize their respective resource group's avatar with an image, like they can with an individual user or collaborator.
