I've wanted this feature too. The closest I could find was the "editor" privileges which doesn't do this exactly but offers some interesting features. I will let Stephanie take it from there.

Any data should work: Tag's would be a good place to start. Custom field would be good too. Status might work as well though this might just be another task digest view of sorts.
