With Wrike for Professional Services release, our Product team has been working hard to introduce more features to Wrike Resource to help Professional Services companies manage resources across multiple projects.ย
ย
๐ฅย Here are major updates for Wrike Resource:
ย
Job Roles - a new user grouping category that helps with planning projects and assigning tasks according to employees' workload.ย
Billable Time - a new setting for projects and tasks that automatically marks working time spent by employees as billable or non-billable.
Team Utilization Report - a new report template created for analyzing billable and overall employee utilization.
Time Entries Lock - a new feature that allows locking time entries added in a certain period of time to prevent them from being edited.ย
Workload charts updates - we added the ability to group tasks by projects on the chart and also change the displayed time frame from days to weeks.
Timesheets updates - the ability to review other users' timesheets.
Backlog box updates - new horizontal backlog box that displays only unassigned tasks and automatically groups them by project and by the job role that the tasks are assigned to.

This is a great feature update, thanks! Workload view looks much more useful now!
With this new focus on billable time, are there plans to eventually add billing rates per role, or potentially cost per time logged? This would be helpful for us since we have several retainer clients, and also regularly work with hourly contractors.
I dream of a day when we can run a report or see a table view where labor expenses and billable time can be summarized automatically.ย
Also, since you can now see timesheets for other people, it would be helpful to have permission to edit the timelogs of another person. We have some executives who would rather have their assistants track their billable time.
Hi Austin, I have been using custom fields to put the billing rates per role and calculating a sum based on this.ย Hopefully this helps your development.ย But I do see where your coming from and we are eagerly awaiting a solution for this as well.

Thanks, Lisa! I could see how the recent releases could form the groundwork for these kind of features. It's good to know a more robust cost system is in the works!ย
We recently got access to the Wrike Resource add-in, and started including Job Roles to our blueprints.
Noticed that Job Roles can't be mass added in the List view. Asked about it in Help chat, and heard that mass adding Job Roles is coming soon.
Another observation is thatย Job Roles can't be used as assignees in Dashboard Widgets. Very much hoping that we could seeย Job Roles also in Dashboard Widgets in order to find tasks not yet assigned to individual users.
