๐ Releases-Hiding Projects, New Timelog, and an Added Bonus (02/28/18)
Feature Updates
-
Hide Completed Projectsย
- Hide completed and canceled Projects on the Folder tree. Just use filters.ย
-
New Timelog and Categoriesย
- The new and improved version of theย Timelog Viewย is out of Labs and in your Workspace. Best part? Useย categoriesย for time entries. Added bonus: we now save some of your settings (like column order + widget, and groupings).ย
-
Open Links in the Desktop App
- When you click on a link to a task - yes, just tasks - the task opens in theย Desktop Appย instead of the browser version of Wrike. This is aย Wrike Labsย feature.ย
-
Redesigned Email Notifications
- Clean new design? Check!
Fixes
-
External Request Forms + Attachments
- For one day, you would get an error message if you tried to submit an external Request form with an attachment. The resultant tasks were still created but in the root Folder. Forms are back to working as they should.ย
Hi Stephanie.
So glad to see the changes to the email formats. It was a big gripe for us! Thanks!
Also, regarding the Tasks & Desktop app, assume this means that it will auto open the app instead of a browser - and only if you have downloaded and installed the app. Is this true if you have Wrike open in a browser and the app is NOT already open?
Thanks for the updates!
Robert
It doesn't appear that there is a way to delete a timelog entry in the new timelog. You can edit the fields, but you can't set the hours to 0 or delete the entry if it was made in error.
Is there some other way to delete time entries?
For anyone else with this problem, you can right click on the time entry and you'll get a menu with the option to delete. Thanks to Stan in support!
HI Michael, thanks so much for coming back to update the thread after speaking to support - it really helps others with the same issue ๐
Unfortunately, the new timelog export broke our client billing process.ย We exported the timelogs for all our resources at the end of the month and used the folder path column to determine what client to bill time to.ย We have over 50 clients to bill each month.ย With the new export, the folder path was eliminated and we can no longer bill easily.ย ย
Is there anyway to get the folder path back in the export?
Would it be possible to addย old timeline as an option in wrike labs like there is for the old timeline?
ย
Thanks!
@Scott, thanks for sharing feedback about the new export feature. The Product Team have decided to revert back to old Excel export for Timelog today ๐Any questions, let me know.
@Michael -ย I'll assume you mean Timelog above? This was an update enhancement so there's no option to fully revert to an older version - is there anything, in particular, you'd like to share about the new Timelog so we can pass it back to the Product Team? Is the update above for Scott useful for you?
Thanks!
Yes, I meant old timelog, but my main issue was the excel format. So I think I'm good. Thanks!
It appears these changes:
Redesigned Email Notifications
apply only to INTERNAL email notifications and NOT the ones an external user receives when submitting a Form (when enabled for external use)?
Does that redesign improvement portend well for the drastically needed changes that enable us to brand these external confirmations with our own name, logo, email address?
The option to filter Completed projects would be more functional if Completed projects were identifiable in some way as Completed.ย i.e. when you filter to show Completed projects, they appear in a list with Uncompleted projects, but its not clear which is which.ย Can we make Completed greyed out or something?
@Jamie Hi again :) Yes, the new design changes don't include the option to brand confirmation emails for external Request forms. I don't have an update on that feature enhancement at the moment, but this would be the best thread to followย for updates related to that request.ย
@Scott The team is looking for feedback in this area and a little more info would be helpful, so playing devil's advocate here:ย why wouldn't you just hide the completed Projects in that case?
@stephanie Because we want to look at the Completed projects sometimes, so in that case we have removed the filter.ย ย The problem then becomes easily identifying which of the projects in the list are the Completed ones, because they all look the same.
@Scott Got it! That makes sense, thank you :)
