Can you manually sort tasks in a folder or project without a date or time?
I have a quality control checklist that I perform every morning; sometimes it's at 9am, sometimes it's at 10am. I would like to sort the tasks in the order that I perform them, but I only see how to sort them by Dates, Importance, Priority, Status and Title. I could just add numbers to the beginning of the titles, but that will get frustrating when I have to change them.
So, is there anyway to sort them manually?
Thanks!
"Priority" in Wrike is essentially a manual sort. In list view, set the ordering to "By Priority" and drag the tasks up and down until they are in the order you perform them. In reality, this is the priority: the task you do first is highest priority, and so on.
An alternative approach would be to have a single repeating task, which is your morning QC checklist, that has all the items in the list as checkbox items in the task description (in the correct order). The task is complete when all the items are checked...
THIS DOESN'T WORK!! When you drag items around all you can do it is put them inside other items which is not the desired functionality. We're trying to put the items (whether folders, projects or tasks etc) in the sequence that makes sense. Does this tool seriously not support that?
Ok, it only works for tasks, but obviously it needs to be there at the project, and folder, and EVERY level. WTF I can't believe it's so hard to find a decent PM package this is ridiculous!!!!
You're correct Matt Battistel, this does work for tasks using the "by priority" sorting, and you can drag and drop your tasks in the order you'd like to see them. And sorting projects and folders in the same way is available in the New Table View 👍 Please let me know if I can help you with anything else!

Hey there! I have the same issue.
I'm trying to reorganize the tasks but it won't let me. It only allows me to drag them inside other items.
Help, please!
Hi Susana Lim, welcome to Wrike forums, we're glad to have you 👋
Could you please specify which view you're using to reorganize tasks?
For example, in the New Table view, you can change the sorting to "Priority" and start dragging and dropping tasks using the dotted button to the left:
Does this help?

Thanks, Lisa! Yea, I figured it out after some time clicking here and there.
I feel the layout is not as clear or simple and find myself spending quite some time looking at how to do simple things (such as reorganizing the tasks)
Same with the automation. Have read all the instructions but cannot make it work
Hi Susana Lim, thank you for your reply. May I please ask you to elaborate on what you'd like to achieve in Automation and what are the difficulties you are encountering?
This way we'll be able to provide you with an accurate reply - and hopefully a solution 🙂
Thank you!
