Folllowing List for Post: custom fields - allow usage of values for sorting, filtering, etc.

I have a custom field, called customer, in which I have a drop down box with several values. The values separate the type opportunities we might bid on. Values might be commercial, government, competitive, etc.
I would like to create a dashboard in which each type of these opportunities are displayed as a widget (or separate set of data). The dashboard might have 5 columns, one showing projects of each type.
Hey Todd, thanks for all of these posts about Custom Fields :) I wanted to let you know that it's possible to filter by Custom Fields and their different values. Here's how to do this, but let me know if you want to discuss any of these options in a bit more detail:
Once you've filtered the view, you can it to a Dashboard, check out our post about Custom Dashboard Widgets to learn how. Does this help? Happy to answer any other questions!
Go ahead and close this one. I figured it out on my own
I would like to be able to filter my Custom Field with the same drop down list that corresponds to the field when I created it. In the example below I would like to see the list of "Speakers" that I've entered into that field. This would eliminate any chance of error when entering the name as well as make it faster and more user friendly overall. Thank you.

@anastasia I realized that while in MY WORK, it would be nice to sort by custom fields. For example, I like to use the Franklin Cover A, B, C method of prioritizing. It would be nice if I could order the items in MY WORK based on that sorting. I would also like to see the custom field (but not as important)
