Automatic folder tags for project tasks in a folder?

Hello,

IS it possible to have automatic folder tagging for projects within a parent folder?

For example I have my parent folder. Then I have folders for my quarters. In the subfolder, I create my projects. Each time I make a task in that project, I have to manually tag it with my parent folder so that it shows up in the main dashboard.

Is there a way to make it so that every task created within the parent folder is automatically tagged? thanks!

Hi Stephanie, thanks for reaching out! The entire Folder path isn't tagged to tasks in Subfolders, since sometimes there can be multiple levels which would result in numerous tags. A couple of things I could suggest here:

  • Creating a Dashboard widget with the option to "Show subfolders" selected. This ensure that all tasks on lower levels are displayed, even if they aren't explicitly tagged with the parent Folder:

  • If tagging is still required, Mass Editing allows you to tag all tasks in a Folder at once. Here's how:

Would this help? Happy to answer any other questions!

I still have this same question.  the Dashboard does not work for me.  I have a space that has multiple client folders with tasks that I want to roll up to one big bucket I can sort by due date.  Every time I add a new task, I have to remember to manually tag it in order for it to show up in the big bucket...  Need to have a way that it automatically gets tagged.  Is that possible?

Client 1

  • [Client 1] Task 1
  • [Client 1] Task 2
  • [Client 1] Task 3

Client 2

  • [Client 2] Task 1
  • [Client 2] Task 2
  • [Client 2] Task 3

BIG BUCKET- sorted by due date in table view

  • [Client 2] Task 1
  • [Client 1] Task 2
  • [Client 1] Task 3
  • [Client 2] Task 2

If you have access to Wrike Integrate, you can automate tagging tasks to another folder using a variation of the example recipe posted at https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360039269654.

That example shows how to add a prefix to the task title, but could easily be modified to instead tag the task to another folder. I'd be happy to post another sample recipe with this modification if it would help.
